MRS. SARAH RUSSELL NAMED PRINCIPAL OF WYMAN ELEMENTARY
The Rolla Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Mrs. Sarah Russell as the next Principal of Wyman Elementary, effective July 1, 2023. Mrs. Russell will be assuming the position formerly held by Dr. Corey Ray, who will begin serving as RHS Principal at the end of June.
Mrs. Russell has been in education for 10 years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University (2010); a Master of Science in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Missouri State University (2012); a Specialist in Education Administration from William Woods University (2020), and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education Administration from William Woods University.
Mrs. Russell began her career at Missouri State University in the Office of Assessment (2013). She then moved back to her hometown of Newburg, Missouri, where she taught 2nd grade for two years (2014-2015). Mrs. Russell taught 4th grade at Mark Twain Elementary and Rolla Middle School for five years (2016-2021). She started her administrative career as the Richland Elementary Principal (2021), and currently serves as the Salem Middle School Principal.
Mrs. Russell is married to her husband, Jonathan, a proud 6th-grade teacher at Rolla Middle School. They have two “little bulldogs”, Ava (5) and Brooks (3). She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, singing, and watching “The Office” in her spare time. When asked for a comment on her upcoming move to Wyman Elementary she said, “I am absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, and staff of Wyman Elementary. I want to say a special thank you to the Rolla Administration and Board of Education for giving me a chance to give back to the school district that molded me into the educator I am today.”
