Application & Procedures

Certificated Staff Applicants

Persons interested in applying for certificated (teaching) positions in the Rolla School District can expect the following procedure:

  • Complete online application, attaching copies of official transcripts, placement file or three letters of recommendation, and current teaching certificate (if applicable). If you choose, these supporting documents can be mailed directly to:

  • When openings are announced, the appropriate building principal(s) will review all qualified applications.

  • Should your application be selected for the interview phase, you will be contacted for an interview.

  • If you are not selected for an interview, you will be notified by mail.

  • Applications are retained for a period of one year following the application date.

  • Certificated positions are posted in the Administration Building, on the District website, in each school building and online with MO Teaching Jobs.

Support Staff Applicants

Persons interested in applying for a support staff position in the Rolla School District should complete our online application.

The following positions are considered to be classified (or support staff) positions:

  • Custodial

  • Food Service

  • Maintenance

  • Nursing

  • Secretarial

  • Teacher Aides

  • Transportation

Some positions require specialized skills, training, testing, or education to determine skill levels as part of the application process. Applications are retained for a period of one year following the application date. Support staff positions are posted in the Administration Building, on the District website and in each school building.

Substitute Teacher Applicants

Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute teacher for our District. Click on the following link to access our district substitute teacher handbook which contains pertinent information regarding the process to be added to our substitute teacher list (current substitute teacher handbook). The handbook packet can be picked up at the Rolla Public Schools Administration Office located on the second floor at 500A Forum Drive.

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education website also has important information regarding the process (http://dese.mo.gov/eq/cert/CertHelpGuide.html). If you have a regular Missouri teaching certificate, you will not need a separate substitute teaching certificate.  ALL substitute teachers must have a fingerprint background check that lists Rolla Public Schools as the requesting agency and if you have left employment and are returning, a new fingerprint background check will have to be completed.
