COVID-19 Communications from Rolla Public Schools

The Rolla School District will continue to work closely with local health officials to monitor evolving circumstances and revise our operational plans as needed. In an effort to focus communications surrounding COVID cases, building level and district total cases will be reported here. We will continue to directly notify any close contacts to each individual who has tested positive.

At any one time, we may have a number of students and staff members excluded from school due to close contact with a positive case. Students and staff who are impacted by those absences will be contacted. We do not plan to identify those individuals in an effort to respect privacy and personal information. Please note that not all cases reported by the district are a result of contact within the buildings. For tracking and attendance purposes, any student or staff who is COVID positive or excluded from school will be counted in our reporting below.

COVID-19 is thought to be spread via person-to-person contact through contaminated air droplets exhaled by an infected person. As with controlling the spread of other viruses, we urge everyone to take preventive measures and monitor for symptoms daily. More information on our guidelines can be found on our website under Return to Learn (SRCSP). It is truly a community effort to minimize the spread of the virus and help us keep our schools safe, healthy, and open.
